We’re excited to announce the launch of the ARK DIST LR and ARK Flow LR — available now.
Both are made in the USA and NDAA compliant. Each one uses the Broadcom AFBR-S50EX85D time-of-flight distance sensor: a typical range up to 80 m, an 850 nm Class 1 eye-safe laser, and a 2° × 2° beam. The sensor reports distance at 10 Hz.
ARK DIST LR

The ARK DIST LR is a small rangefinder with DroneCAN and MAVLink. It has two Pixhawk-standard CAN connectors, a UART connector, and a debug connector. A 4-pin CAN cable and a 6-pin UART cable are included.

The ARK Flow LR is a DroneCAN optical flow and long-range distance sensor for GPS-denied flight. It uses the ARK Flow MR board with the same Broadcom AFBR-S50EX85D as the ARK DIST LR, and it runs its own firmware. A 4-pin CAN cable is included.
- PixArt PAA3905 optical flow sensor, 80 mm to infinity, 42° field of view, and a 40 mW IR LED
- Broadcom AFBR-S50EX85D time-of-flight sensor, typical range up to 80 m
- Invensense IIM-42653 6-axis IMU
- Two 4-pin JST-GH CAN connectors and a 6-pin JST-SH debug connector
- 3 cm × 3 cm × 1.4 cm and 5 g
- 5 V, 86 mA average, 90 mA max
